From Deborah Sweet...
Your local business, a Note-Worthy Experiences, has generously offered to be a collection point for my backpack and school supply drive called "WE'VE GOT YOUR BACKpack." Please see the information below! ❤️❤️❤️ I am collecting backpacks and school supplies to help local children get ready for the school year to come. My desire to help comes from my role as a foster and adoptive parent. The Framingham DCF office covers a catchment area of 26 towns and helps to support and stabilize hundreds of families in need in our community every day. Many of the homes DCF social workers reach out to struggle to provide basic necessities like food and clothing for their children. The added stress of providing back to school supplies can be overwhelming. My goal is to help give each child we reach the tools and resources they need to feel prepared, to feel capable, and to feel ENTITLED to the education they are receiving. The generosity I witnessed over the past several years leaves me feeling overwhelmed with gratitude. It indeed takes a village to raise a child, and I am so grateful to have a stake in this one. For more information on additional ways to help raise awareness for children in the foster care system or to learn how to become a foster or adoptive parent, please feel free to contact me directly. I look forward to continuing to find ways to include you in making changes...one child at a time. HOW CAN YOU HELP??? 1) First, shop at Fiske's in Holliston and ask to purchase a supply kit for the WE'VE GOT YOUR BACKpack campaign. You can purchase a kit for Little Kids or Big Kids. Next, buy a new backpack appropriate for the kit you purchased. Finally, drop off the backpack in the bin on my front steps or back at Fiske's. 2) Shop independently for these new supplies and fill a backpack with them, gender of your choice. Big Kid (Middle School/High School): ~new backpack ~#2 pencils ~pens ~3-5 folders ~2 inch 3 ring binder(s) ~notebook ~lined filler paper ~highlighters ~glue ~scissors ~markers Little Kid (Elementary School): ~new backpack ~markers ~crayons ~scissors ~folder ~glue sticks ~notebook 3) Drop off your donation with Renee at the Note-Worthy Experiences Music Studio, 75 Witherell Drive (there is a blue bin on the front porch if you donate items during inclement weather). Please join me in a huge round of applause for Miss Grace! Grace recently completed her Primer Level Piano Adventures Series. She has already started to work from her Level 1 Red Books! "This Land Is Your Land", was Grace's favorite piece that she has played so far. Cheese pizza is her favorite food, while purple is her favorite color. When Grace is not busy playing the piano, she enjoys gymnastics, drawing and playing with Percy, her dog! When Grace is older she would like to become a third grade teacher! Congratulations Grace!
