Teaching Philosophy: "My teaching philosophy is simple and direct. I approach each student as an individual, regardless of level, and work with them to help them achieve their goals and have a fulfilling relationship with music. It is important for me to learn about each student’s background and goals and evaluate how best to accomplish them with a clear semester-by-semester approach that addresses their strengths and weaknesses. My pedagogical lineage is important to me and I take a holistic approach that incorporates all aspects of bassoon playing (orchestral, chamber, solo), ear training, reed making and equipment selection in hope that I can pass on the knowledge I’ve gained from working with the masters.  Above all, I strive to be clear and flexible with my expectations and a positive role model for all of my students."

Bassoonist Daniel Beilman has performed in major concert halls across the USA and Europe including the Royal Concertgebouw, De Doelen, Lucerne Hall, Boston's Jordan Hall, Symphony Hall, Mechanics Hall, and Santo Domingo's Teatro Nacional in the Dominican Republic.  Daniel is in demand as a teacher, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. He has performed regularly with groups in and around Boston including The Boston Philharmonic, BMOP, Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra, New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, Cape Symphony, North End Music & Performing Arts Center, and the Plymouth Philharmonic.

Some of his past summer activities include the Lucerne Festival Academy, the Talis Festival & Academy, Cortona Sessions for New Music, Symphony Orchestra Academy of the Pacific, Masterworks Festival, Curtis Institute Bassoon Workshop, and Ball State Bassoon Camp.

Daniel holds a Master's degree from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in bassoon performance from The Boston Conservatory.  He has also attended Ball State University. His teachers include Nancy Goeres, Ronald Haroutunian, Andrew Schwartz, Adrian Morejon, Margaret Phillips, Keith Sweger, and Roger Soren. As a teacher, he has been in residence with Fundacion Sinfonia and the National Youth Orchestra of the Dominican Republic and is on faculty at the Brookline Music School and Note-Worthy Experiences and maintains a private studio in Boston.

Daniel has been teaching since 2008 and has been with Note-worthy Experiences since November 2017, and he served as a judge for the live round of the 2019 Note-worthy Experiences Scholarship Competition. He only teaches online lessons.
