Teaching Philosophy: "I believe that music should be fun. I have had a number of different guitar and band teachers through the years, and I try to incorporate the best techniques and tips I've learned from each. I like to find out what motivates my students and tap into that to make sure that my lessons encourage and inspire them. I spend time learning what type of music resonates with my students and then make sure they feel challenged and engaged. I am a great listener and guide with a gentle but firm approach that helps students achieve their potential."
Biography: "Charlie has been playing guitar since second grade. After a brief stint with piano, Charlie discovered that guitar was his passion, and he has never looked back. The music store where Charlie took his guitar lessons as a young kid had a build-the-band program, and Charlie, along with his drummer dad and a close friend from school, started a band called Ox Nostril. Preparing for performances motivated and inspired Charlie. He loved being able to play songs that he heard on the radio and loved having an audience. He practiced hard and has been performing ever since. Charlie has played lead guitar and done back-up vocals for a number of bands, including Silver Arrow, Atlantic Shake, The Heavy Souls, and the 415s.
Charlie attended Holderness School in New Hampshire and was part of a small but mighty music program that launched all of the Advanced Band members into careers in music, and three of them, including Charlie, went on to study at Berklee School of Music. Charlie is majoring in guitar performance at Berklee and enjoys the opportunity to study under some of his idols. In addition to the guitar, Charlie plays bass, ukulele, and mandolin. He dabbles in drums and keyboards as well. Charlie enjoys all types of music, including jazz, classic rock, and blues, but his favorite band is Goose, whom he has seen in concert 12 times and counting.
Charlie teaches guitar, bass guitar and ukulele lessons, and has been with Note-worthy Experiences since January 2023.
