Teaching Philosophy: "I believe that music education is an opportunity for growth, both of musical abilities and skills that will serve students whether they pursue music professionally or not. Music learning should be a fun and positive experience where students feel safe and valued. They should build skills that will contribute to their success in standard musical areas while also following their own ideas and passions. I tailor my teaching to each student to align with where they are in their musical journey and where they want to go. I endeavor to help my students to become their own teachers and to push themselves to achieve their musical goals. Whether a student goes on to be a musician or not, I hope to inspire them to be lifelong lovers and participators in music and music making, as I firmly believe it leads to a more fulfilling life."
