Teaching Philosophy: "I believe in these core tenets:
Music exists for artistic expression, emotional fulfillment, and fun.
Music should therefore be taught in a way that increases the musician’s ability to express themselves and enjoy their time playing.

As no two people are the same, music lessons don’t look the same for everyone. Instead, they must be tailored to the individual so each student can thrive in their learning, performing, and self-confidence. I also understand the importance of having positive role-models, and make a point of always building my students up."

Biography: Music has been Joshua’s passion for over 19 years. He has performed in projects that cover a multitude of genres, from his origins as a young musician trained in swing and big band, to being the drummer for his high school’s jazz ensemble where he was presented with the Woody Herman award. He has also recorded drums for Berklee-graduate Morgan Minsk on her album Praise and studied the complex rhythms of math rock. His two modern projects explore the atmosphere and dynamic shifts of shoegaze band This Body Is All I Have in This World, and fun-loving folk-punk band Nervous.

Whatever the genre, Joshua always promises to bring something new and unexpected to his collaborators, encouraging them to reimagine their own pieces and see them as unbounded by former constraints.

Joshua has been teaching since 2021 and joined Note-worthy Experiences in January 2023.
