Teaching Philosophy: "My philosophy on teaching is to create a nurturing and warm interaction with the student, to freely express themselves, openly ask questions, experience the joy of music and learning while trusting that I am there to guide and support them.
In teaching piano, technique and hand development is subtly introduced based on the age of the student. Music theory is also introduced in the process of learning pieces. If the student is old enough, I introduce rhythmic patterns while learning scales to the entire keyboard, speed and agility.
In teaching voice, the primary emphasis is on breath support for the health and nurturing of the instrument; learning control, developing capacity for breath as well as strength and stamina. Proper alignment of the vowels, diction exercises, scale-work and simple to intricate staccatti exercises also develop control of the breath, agility and precision, all of which is applied directly to repertoire."
