Teaching Philosophy: "My teaching style is, in a word, relaxed. I try to find people where they are. That way they stay engaged. I'm a big believer in the basics. With a strong foundation, you set yourself up for success. I think I have an eclectic taste for music. I'm open to working on whatever song/pieces the student likes. But whether it's a song, exercise or etude in the method book, I like to study thoroughly because there's so much content you can mine from even the simplest thing! Rhythm exercises are game changers and I often use metronomes and grooves. My big goal is to inspire and motivate players to think independently and learn through experience. My wish for them is that they develop creative independence and "become the music". Might sound cheesy but I believe it based on my own travels down this path. My musical hero is the late Hamza El Din, a Nubian musician known for his songs of 'quiet intensity and beauty."
Throw some music, comedy and performance art in your blender and you might get something that tastes like Zayde Buti's artwork. Buti has been bumbling his bee-hind around Boston for the past 35 years. He writes some of the oddest, serious yet funny experimental pop songs he's ever heard. He is also known for some weird music videos. Buti has performed both in venues and in the streets throughout the Northeast US. He has over three years' experience providing private, in-home guitar lessons to children and adults. In addition to music teaching, Buti edits films and coordinates projects for Community Supported Film (CSFilm) and teaches digital media workshops at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where he graduated with a BFA from the Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM) in 2010.
Buti has been teaching since 2016 and has been with Note-worthy Experiences since January 2020. He can teach long-term in person and online/virtual lessons.
