Teaching Philosophy: "I work with violists of all ages and skill levels, developing lifelong technical proficiency and exploring the joys and challenges of playing the viola. Creating a kinesthetic connection between the body and the instrument is key to feeling comfortable and being able to effortlessly produce a beautiful sound on the instrument. While no two students are alike, the fundamental relationship between body and instrument is a touchstone for every student, and a concept worth returning to at all skill levels on the viola."

Biography: Anton began playing the viola at the age of seven under the instruction of Bernard Klinger. At fourteen, Anton enrolled at the Manhattan School of Music Preparatory division as part of Karen Ritscher’s viola studio. Anton went on to receive his Bachelor of Music from the Steinhardt School at New York University on full scholarship, and actively participated in ensembles such as the New Music Ensemble and various string trios, quartets, and quintets. Anton completed his Master of Music degree at the University of Massachusetts Amherst on full scholarship. Anton currently resides in Springfield, Massachusetts, and substitutes with the Springfield Symphony Orchestra is part of the Chicago Civic Orchestra as an Associate member, and plays with other local orchestras in the New England Area. Anton has been teaching in the greater New England region since 2017, providing chamber music coaching for the Pioneer Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra, leading orchestral sectional rehearsals for the surrounding colleges as well as maintaining his own private viola teaching studio.

Anton has been teaching since 2017 and joined Note-worthy Experiences in June 2023 where he teaches viola.
