For those who are not able to join us for this event, we are happy to assist in creating a special keepsake video of your musician's performance at home. If you would like more information, you may contact Renee or chat with your instructor.
There will not be a paper program. Guests and students are asked to print the program the day before the recitals (as performance orders may change) at home and bring it along or follow along on a smartphone or tablet.
There will be a brief awards ceremony following each recital. Guests and performers are expected to be present for their entire assigned recital and the awards ceremony. (The awards ceremony is often the favorite part for our students).
Students will be seated with the other students in number order of their performances and asked to quietly prepare from their seats to take the stage area. If a string, brass, or woodwind student needs to warm up or tune, this may be done in an upstairs room. Students should do these 3 - 4 student performances ahead of their performance and be ready when the student before is playing. Please keep in mind our very tight time constraints due to capacity limits. Renee and the instructors will be assisting students for the recitals to run smoothly and on time.
The parents of the student performing may temporarily be seated in the front row while the student is performing.
NWE Students who are not performing are highly encouraged to attend to support their peer musicians.
Students should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled recital time and check in with Renee. Students and families are welcome to attend additional recitals to support their friends.
A piano, drum set, music stands, amplifier, stool, Bluetooth speaker, extension cords, microphone, and microphone stand will be provided. Performers should bring their own music, drumsticks, and instruments (if applicable). If any musician is playing with a backtrack, Renee must be notified in advance and the student must also have the track ready at the recital time. Wifi is available.
Photo opportunities are available around the lovely picturesque grounds. We will also have a photo opportunity area with props set up. Your patience is truly appreciated. If the previously scheduled recital is taking place when you arrive, you may quietly enjoy the performances.
Photography and videography are highly encouraged during each recital. Please tag Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio® and Renee on social media posts.
The attire for performers is their holiday best. The suggested attire for guests is holiday festive.
There is a $50 per student performer registration nonrefundable fee due by October 15th (with a maximum per family of $100). We do not charge a ticket fee and performers are welcome to bring an unlimited number of guests. Registrations after October 15th will be assessed $10 late fee; students will only be added to a recital after October 15th if space is available. Renee will assign students to a specific recital based on instructor groups. Scheduling requests for religious reasons will be accommodated if Renee is notified in writing before October 15th. Recital assignments will be sent out via email communication through Constant Contact on or before October 31st. The Recital Assignment Sheet will be posted in a link above.
Song titles are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students are limited to performing a total of two pieces unless the student studies with three or more separate instructors. Total performance time per student should not exceed 6 minutes. Students may perform two-holiday pieces if they wish. Songs should be family-friendly. Songs with explicit lyrics and suggestive themes are not permitted.
Duet and small group performances are encouraged.
Accompanists will be provided if requested by October 15th.
The venue is handicap accessible and there is handicap parking. If anyone will be using a ramp for accessibility, please let Renee know prior to December 12th so she can share specific drop-off and parking instructions. Please note the map included on this page.
The Discovery Barn is located near the back of the Nashoba Brooks School Campus. The closest parking will be behind the main building. Overflow parking will take place in front of the Main Entrance. Please see the map.
In the event of inclement weather, all updates will be emailed via Constant Contact, posted here, and on our Facebook page.
In the event of an emergency, please contact your instructor directly first. You may email Marie at [email protected], call or text Tom Bordner at 617.276.7956, or text Renee at 484.264.9378. Please note that Tom and Renee will be at all recitals and not be able to reply right away.
We are excited to celebrate our musicians' successes and the holiday season!
