Teaching Philosophy: "To me, the power of music lies in communication. Whether it be an emotion, idea, or story, music is an art form that allows us to come together as individuals and understand things that words alone fail to communicate. My goal as a teacher is to empower my students with the skills to express themselves confidently and effectively through their music. I believe that strong foundations in music literacy and technique within their area of focus are the key to any student’s success. I like to incorporate aspects of music theory and history into my teaching so that my students are encouraged to think critically about music that they resonate with and to think about why it is exciting to them. I share my love for exploring a wide range of musical genres to inspire my students to be curious and to push themselves to understand and try things that may be outside their comfort zone. I want music to be a fun and expressive outlet for my students while also helping them to understand that they get out of their music what they put in. I found my confidence and purpose through performing and sharing music and hope to inspire my students to do the same."

Boaz has been loving his lessons with Benedict, as he did with Nicholas. We're so grateful to the wonderful teachers at Note-worthy: both Nicholas and Benedict have an intuitive sense for how to meet a student where he is and play (pun intended!) to his strengths. Thank you!
