Teaching Philosophy: "Music education has long been recognized as a positive influence on both children and adults, with extensive research proving the correlation between higher test scores and musical knowledge and skill. As well as enhancing cognitive development, I am equally interested in nurturing the emotional development of a student. My goal as an educator is to help each student follow their individual passions regarding music, cultivating personal growth through appreciation, learning, and performance."
Biography: A lifelong New England resident, Carly Consoletti is a musician and educator with nearly two decades of teaching experience. Born in Rhode Island, she, her parents, and her baby sister moved to Massachusetts to build their home on her family’s sprawling farmland. Her love of music started young, with her mother playing her the Boston Pops in Love album nightly. This love was further solidified when she witnessed her grandpa driving over an antique piano to put in her home, via tractor. Starting at age 9, she joined the Blackstone-Millville Regional music program, beginning on clarinet. At age 14, she finally started piano lessons. While in school, she eagerly joined as many music ensembles as possible, performing in the wind ensemble, jazz band, clarinet choir, and marching band in the pit with keyboard percussion, as well as performing in the district and all-state competitions.
She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, in 2008, majoring in music education on clarinet, with a minor in piano performance. While in college, she began teaching private music and theory lessons to students in the Blackstone-Millville Regional School District. After graduating, she performed briefly in a cover band as the keyboard pianist and percussionist and branched out to Rhode Island to teach privately. While her focus is on classical music, she enjoys performing and teaching many genres of music and is always looking to keep the students engaged with their own music preferences.
Carly is also a fine artist and actor. She enjoys painting with oils and watercolors, reading, snowboarding, hiking, and spending time with her loved ones. She has been teaching since 2004 and has been with Note-worthy Experiences since March 2019. She teaches lessons online lessons only.

We are so pleased with Carly. Not only is she super talented and experienced, she is an effective communicator. I was so impressed with how quickly Sophie was able to master simple songs on the clarinet just a few weeks after first picking up the instrument and only after a couple lessons with Carly. We look forward to continued musical progress with Carly!
