Teaching Philosophy: "As a teacher, my first priority is ensuring my students have a healthy relationship with their instrument. Despite its intimidating size, everyone has the ability to become physically comfortable with the bass. Once my students and I find the best way to navigate the instrument, I use a mix of current music with some more traditional repertoire to help the students find their voice through the strings. Promoting fun and creative approaches to the bass and music helps the students develop a lifelong bond with their instrument. Because every student is different, I tailor lessons to their needs and interests - making lessons engaging and productive! From the oldest styles of classical music and jazz to the pop music of today, I have been able to experience and perform all of them professionally. I use this knowledge and professional experience to help my students discover what they love and help them engage with music in a way they wouldn’t be able to otherwise."
