Teaching Philosophy: "I believe in developing skill not just in an individual instrument, but in the full musician, which includes excellence and autonomy in rhythm, technique, musicality, theory, artistry, and creativity. Regardless of whether or not the student chooses to pursue music professionally, my ultimate goal is to help my students find joy in music while developing these qualities."

Flutist, Pianist, and Teaching Artist, Stacey Chou has been playing the flute since age 8 and piano since age 5. She earned her Graduate Performance Diploma and Master of Music degree from the Longy School of Music of Bard College under the tutelage of Marco Granados. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree with Distinction from the Eastman School of Music, studying under Vincent Lenti. At Longy, she had teaching assistantships with the Teaching Artist Program and the El Sistema Side-by-Side youth orchestra program. She was also a winner in the annual Longy Honors Competition and was awarded the President's Award for Excellence in Teaching Artistry. Stacey is a founding member of the flute quintet, In Radiance, which performed at the National Flute Convention in 2016, 2017, and 2018, all including world premieres. She has played in masterclasses for renown performers and pedagogues Susan Milan, Sarah Brady, Lorna McGnee, and Imani Winds, among others. Stacey currently resides in Boston, where she teaches piano and flute, performs regularly, leads workshops, and is an accompanist at her church and a flutist and piccoloist with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. In addition to regularly performing in the Boston area, she frequently performs and teaches across the United States and other countries, and often brings music to places where music instruction or performance is not as easily accessible. As a 2017-2018 Fellow in the Global Leaders Program, she had the opportunity to collaborate with NGOs in Chile and Brazil to further her passion in this area. Stacey's expertise in performing and video production has most recently been seen with the Urbana Worship Team, whose live album was released in the Spring of 2019, at staff leadership and international student conferences and who produced music for InterVarsity Live!, a weekly online campus ministry developed as a response to COVID-19.

She teachers piano and flute lessons for Note-worthy Experiences, is a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers, and has successfully prepared students for the National Piano Guild Auditions since 2017. Stacey has been teaching since 2009 and has been with Note-worthy Experiences since September 2016 where she teaches in-person as well as long-term online/virtual lessons.
