What is your why for listening to music?

We have all heard the sayings such as music cures all, music soothes, music is a form of self expression, etc.  Personally, I love the shirts and coffee mugs that have sayings such as "music is life, that is why our hearts have beats" etc. because I truly believe the statement is true!

However, this fascinating collection of data truly proves all that we have previously thought and heard about music.  According to www.soundunited.com. "3 in 4 Americans Say Music Has Been Key to Improving their Mental Health During COVID".  The study also states:
  • - Listening to music ranked #1 as most important to improving happiness, ahead of exercise and watching television.
  • - Nearly 8 in 10 say listening to music has become more important amidst the stresses of the last year.
  • - 69% would give up their favorite social media account for one year over giving up listening to music.
  • - 72% of remote-working Americans have created a pump-up playlist to improve overall energy levels.

  • What is your why for listening to music?  Do you listen to specific music for specific tasks or moods?  Have you found yourself listening to more music during the pandemic?  Have you listened to different types of music since the pandemic started?  Did you listen to different music earlier in the pandemic versus what you are listening to now?  What will be on your future playlists?
Whatever your music choices have been and are, keep on listening!  Keep exploring new music and keep incorporating music into different aspects of your daily routines!

Happy May to all of you!  This month we are celebrating our musicians at our outdoor performances at Note-worthypalooza and the Sudbury Housing Authority.  We are honoring all of our mothers and mother figures! Our graduates are also being celebrated.  Best wishes to our scholarship competition finalists and those auditioning for Piano Guild!  We will wrap up our incredible season of Free Family Fun Night Concerts.  We will remember our fallen military and begin the unofficial start of summer.  Yes, May is going to be a very fun and full month for our studio.   Thank you to our entire Note-worthy Experiences Team for making this May very memorable for all of us.  Especially for our instructors and students who are reuniting for more in person and outdoor lessons.

Musically yours,

Renee
